THE RICHMOND YOUTH HONOUR CHOIR
REPRESENTS SOME OF THE BEST YOUNG SINGERS
IN RICHMOND AND THE METRO VANCOUVER AREA

The RYHC wants to respectfully acknowledge that we are on the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish people and that we are guests in the territory of the Indigenous peoples of this land.
For this we are grateful.

We sing a wide variety of musical styles, from Bach to Broadway and everything in between. Over the past 18 seasons, the RYHC has collected a long list of accomplishments! We have performed at many festivals such as Salmon Festival, Maritime Festival, and the Richmond Children’s Festival. We have collaborated with many other exciting arts organizations including the Richmond Delta Youth Orchestra, Richmond Singers, Richmond Orchestra and Chorus, Vancouver Peace Choir, Vancouver Youth Symphony and Orchestra and more. We have hosted groups including the Canadian Mennonite University Choir from Winnipeg as well as the West Gate Concert Choir and Band, also from Winnipeg.  We hosted the Wakayama Children’s Choir from Richmond’s sister city, Wakayama, Japan during the celebration of our 40th anniversary of our cities friendship.

As you can see, there is no end to the special opportunities afforded to our RYHC choir members! Get your voice up in lights! If you enjoy singing and want develop your singing voice as well as your stage presence through fun-filled, intense rehearsals, with many unique and enriched performance opportunities, this choir is for you! The RYHC has high standards of excellence in providing educational training as well as a friendly and encouraging learning environment with highly qualified staff. Joining one of our choirs is a great way to make new friends that share your passion for music and singing. Generally our choral season runs from the middle of September to the end of May. (In touring years, the Touring Choir extends to and through tour)

The RYHC has three divisions for ages 5 through 19.

• Prelude Choir for 5 – 8 years of age        5:15 – 6:15 pm
• Debut Choir for 9 – 13 years of age          6:15 – 7:15 pm
• Festival Choir for 12 – 19 years of age    7:00 – 8:30 pm
